About this event

Rain, rain, rain...makes for wet, wet, wet trails.......so while we wait for things to dry out a bit, let's have some fun walking the paved waterfront path running along the western edge of Palm Beach Island. The path hugs the shoreline of the Intercostal Waterway passing sailboats, yachts and the backyards of Palm Beach Estates. You will see royal palms, and a massive historic giant kapok tree near the Flagler Museum. This will be an out and back starting from the middle bridge in West Palm. Park in the Evernia Street Parking Garage (333 Evernia St - $5.00 all day on weekends). We will meet at 7;45 outside the parking garage and begin walking promptly at 8. We will cross Flagler Drive at Fern Street and head south to the Royal Park Bridge (Middle Bridge), cross over to Palm Beach and pick up the trail. You are welcome to turn around at any point to make this a shorter hike. There is limited shade so bring sunscreen, a hat, and sufficient water! There are no bathroom facilities on the trail. If there is interest, we may have lunch at ER Bradley's Saloon back in West Palm after the hike. You also might be interested in stopping at the free outdoor sculpture garden at the Society of the Four Arts near the end of the hike (it is one of my favorite places)!
